Srinagar, Sep 16 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned free ridership for differently-abled persons in public transport, fulfilling a key Budget announcement made in March this year.
The Office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, The facility will cover JKRTC services as well as e-Buses operated by Jammu Smart City Limited and Srinagar Smart City Limited.
Congratulating Transport Minister Satish Sharma on the initiative, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the decision reflects the Government’s commitment to social justice and marks an important step towards ensuring greater accessibility, ease of travel and inclusive mobility across Jammu and Kashmir.
