Dildar, Karnah, September 10 (JKNS): The long-pending demand for the construction of a road connecting Kandi with Faizabad in the border subdivision of Karnah has finally moved towards implementation, bringing relief and happiness among the residents of Faizabad.
The important road project has received the green signal, with the total estimated cost of the project reported to be around ₹4 crore, of which ₹3.5 crore has already been sanctioned.
The development has been welcomed by the people of Faizabad, who expressed gratitude to the government, concerned departments and, in particular, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah Riyaz Ahmad for their efforts towards addressing the long-standing demand.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Faizabad, retired Sub-Inspector Ashraf Mir and retired teacher Rashid Awan thanked SDM Karnah Riyaz Ahmad and the government, saying that their demand, pending for years, was finally moving towards fulfilment.
They said the area was in urgent need of a proper road connection and that the construction of the Kandi–Faizabad road would provide significant relief to residents by improving access to education, healthcare, trade, transportation and other essential services.
They further said that the approval of the road project would not only benefit Faizabad but also Kandi and surrounding areas, potentially opening new avenues for development. Improved road connectivity would connect the residents with major areas and contribute to the growth of the local economy and employment opportunities.
Kandi Residents Step Forward to Donate Land
One of the most notable aspects of the project is the decision by several residents of Kandi to provide their privately owned land for the construction of the road.
Local residents said they had taken the decision keeping the larger public interest in mind. They stated that the sincerity, honesty, seriousness and compassionate approach shown by SDM Karnah Riyaz Ahmad towards resolving public issues had encouraged them to come forward and offer their valuable land for the project.
They said that when trust is established between the administration and the public, people also come forward to extend their cooperation for the successful implementation of development projects.
The land donors said that giving their land for a better road network and a brighter future for the coming generations was a matter of satisfaction for them.
Local residents described the decision of Kandi landowners to provide land for the project as a commendable and exemplary gesture, stressing that public cooperation is crucial for the successful completion of major development projects.
₹4 Crore Project, ₹3.5 Crore Sanctioned
According to sources, the total estimated cost of the Kandi–Faizabad road project is around ₹4 crore, while ₹3.5 crore has so far been sanctioned.
Residents expressed hope that the remaining amount and other necessary formalities would also be cleared at the earliest so that construction work could begin on the ground without further delay.
The people of Faizabad have urged the government and concerned authorities to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe and that quality remains the top priority during construction.
They said that after waiting for years for proper road connectivity, the people should not be made to face further delays.
Public representatives and residents said the Kandi–Faizabad road is not merely a connectivity project but an important step towards the development, prosperity and better future of the area.
They expressed hope that the government would continue taking similar measures to strengthen basic infrastructure in the remote and border areas of Karnah.
The residents of Faizabad once again expressed their gratitude to SDM Karnah Riyaz Ahmad, the government and all those residents of Kandi who have agreed to provide their land for the project.
They said that the combination of collective public cooperation and sincere administrative efforts could finally turn the long-standing demand into reality.(JKNS)
