BJP Stages Protest in Sumbal Against Tanvir Sadiq’s Remarks, Demands Action from NC

Bandipora, Sept 9 (JKNS): Senior BJP leader and State Executive Member Naseer Ahmad Lone today led a strong protest in Sumbal against National Conference (NC) Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq over his recent remarks concerning Kashmiri women and the wearing of the traditional pajama(Yazeer Controversy).

During the protest, BJP workers strongly condemned the statement and raised slogans against the National Conference and particularly its Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq.

Addressing the Media Naseer Ahmad Lone said that political leaders should maintain dignity and responsibility while making public statements, particularly on issues concerning Kashmiri women.

Lone also referred to the recent action taken by the BJP over a controversial statement related to Article 370, saying that the party acted swiftly and suspended the concerned leader.

He demanded that the National Conference should also take appropriate action against Tanvir Sadiq over his remarks.

He said that accountability should be applied equally and urged the NC leadership to take cognisance of the matter and initiate action against its Chief Spokesperson. (JKNS)
