Sopore, Sept 7: After remaining in a dilapidated condition for nearly 15 years, the long-pending Duroo–Sempora Road has finally been macadamised by the R&B Department, Sopore, bringing major relief to the local population.
The road stretch from Duroo Jamia Masjid to Sempora had remained in a poor and shabbly condition for several years, causing immense inconvenience to commuters and local residents.
The local populace has expressed satisfaction over the quality of work and appreciated the efforts of the R&B Division Sopore, particularly the Executive Engineer, AEE Zaingair and JE of the R&B Department Sopore, for their tireless efforts in completing the long-awaited work.
Residents also appreciated the contractor, Blue Stone, for carrying out the macadamisation work satisfactorily.
“We had been facing serious problems due to the poor condition of this road for the last 15 years.
The road from Duroo Jamia Masjid to Sempora was badly damaged, but the work carried out by R&B Sopore and the contractor has satisfied us,” local residents said.
The residents expressed hope that the department will continue to address other long-pending infrastructure and road-related issues in the area.
