Kokernag, Sept 6 (JKNS): A 36-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle at Fisheries area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that, the deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Kalas, son of Mohammad Shareef Kalas, a resident of Shalnard, Lisser, Kokernag.
Officials said the pedestrian sustained critical injuries in the accident and was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, they said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances of the accident and identify the vehicle involved. (JKNS)
