Srinagar, September 4: A grand book release ceremony for the Zabarwan Series of Kashmiri textbooks for Classes 1st to 5th was held at a local hotel in Srinagar on Friday. The event was organised by Vision Books International.
The ceremony was graced by veteran author and translator Prof. Neerja Mattu, renowned poet Prof. Naseem Shafie, noted author and historian Zareef Ahmad Zareef, President of Adbi Markaz Kamraz, Mohd Amin Bhat, renowned educationist Ishfaq Ahmad Khan, and educationist Aijaz Ahmad Wani, among others.
Young award-winning writer and author of the series, Dheeba Nazir, welcomed the guests and spoke about the work and research that went into developing the Zabarwan Series.
A research paper on the series was also presented by Afroza Akther, highlighting various aspects of the textbooks and their significance in promoting Kashmiri language and literature among young learners.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Neerja Mattu congratulated Dheeba Nazir for her work and stressed the importance of preserving and promoting the Kashmiri mother tongue among younger generations.
Other speakers hailed the efforts of Vision Books International and author Dheeba Nazir, describing the publication of the series as an important initiative towards strengthening Kashmiri language education.
The programme was moderated by young writer and journalist Zubair Qureshi, who also presented the vote of thanks, bringing the event to a close.
