Budgam, September 1: National Conference MLA from Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Ahmed Wani, has once again reiterated his position on the ongoing matter concerning party MP Aga Ruhullah, stating that his stand remains unchanged, while personally, he continues to hold Aga Ruhullah in high regard and respect.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Wani said that he had already made his position clear before Aga Ruhullah and sees no reason to change it.
“I have already made my position clear before respected Aga Ruhullah Sahib, and my statement remains the same even today,” he said.
Dr. Wani stressed that the National Conference is a political party with a proper organisational structure, while the party’s top leadership, including Dr. Farooq Abdullah, has also already expressed its position on the matter.
However, distinguishing between his political responsibilities and his personal relationship with Aga Ruhullah, Dr. Wani said that Aga Ruhullah belongs to his district and that he shares personal relations with him.
“As far as my personal relationship with Aga Ruhullah Sahib is concerned, he belongs to my district. I have personal relations with him and hold him in great respect and regard,” he said.
Referring to the responsibilities of both leaders within the party, Dr. Wani said that Aga Ruhullah is a Member of Parliament from the National Conference, while he himself is an MLA representing Beerwah on the ticket of the same party.
He made it clear that personal respect and political responsibilities should be viewed separately, reiterating that there has been no change in his earlier position on the matter.
