Srinagar, Aug 25 (JKNS): J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today visited Jenab Sahib Soura along with officials from the Board’s Engineering team and Waqf Administrators to review the arrangements for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi and take stock of the ongoing developmental works.
Dr Andrabi reviewed the facilities being provided to devotees, including cleanliness, arrangements and other essential amenities. She inspected the ongoing works and directed the concerned teams to ensure their timely completion while providing the best possible facilities to devotees.
Dr Andrabi also offered prayers for peace, prosperity, harmony and tranquillity in Jammu & Kashmir and the country at large.
Later, the Waqf Board Chairperson paid obeisance at Dargah Hazratbal and chaired a meeting with Waqf Board officials and representatives of various government departments to review the preparedness for the forthcoming Milad celebrations.
She directed all concerned departments and agencies to ensure comprehensive and foolproof arrangements so that devotees are provided all necessary facilities and assistance during the celebrations. Dr Andrabi also inspected the ongoing developmental works at Hazratbal and supervised the works in progress.
Speaking to the media later, Dr Andrabi said that all arrangements at the shrines and mosques under the management of the J&K Waqf Board have been finalised for the Milad celebrations and that devotees across the region would be provided proper facilities.
She appealed to people to pray for peace and prosperity for all and said that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) carry a universal message of peace, compassion, inclusiveness and brotherhood.
“The Prophet’s message of peace guides us towards a peaceful humanity. Let’s all propagate this message of inclusiveness and brotherhood around us,” said Dr Andrabi. (JKNS)
