J&K Trade Union Council Convention Highlights Employees’ Issues, Calls for Resolution of Legitimate Demands

Budgam, Aug 23 (JKNS): During the grand convention organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Union Council under the leadership of its President Abdul Majid Paray, the trade union leadership, while interacting with the media, highlighted the longstanding issues and legitimate demands faced by employees across Jammu and Kashmir and urged the government to take effective measures for their early resolution.

Addressing the media, President Jammu and Kashmir Trade Union Council Abdul Majid Paray said that employees serving in various government departments have been awaiting resolution of several issues and demands for years.

He urged the government to consider their legitimate concerns on priority and take concrete steps for their redressal.

He said employees are the backbone of any administrative system and their issues should not be ignored but addressed with seriousness and sensitivity.

He stressed that regular and meaningful dialogue between the government and employees’ representative organisations is essential for finding lasting solutions to their concerns.

Abdul Majid Paray said the Trade Union Council would continue to raise the voice of employees and their legitimate demands at every appropriate forum.

He made it clear that the struggle for employees’ rights would be pursued through democratic, constitutional and peaceful means.

On the occasion, the participation of the national leadership of the All India Railway Federation (AIRF), including S. G. Mishra, S. K. Tyagi and their team, was also welcomed. Speakers said that the participation of the national-level trade union leadership had further strengthened the common platform of employees.

During the convention, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Employees Federation, led by Muhammad Rafiq Baba, was formally affiliated with the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Union Council.

The development was described as an important step towards strengthening unity among employees and their collective struggle for the resolution of their legitimate demands. (JKNS)
