70-Year-Old Woman Killed After Being Hit by Alto in Sopore

Sopore, Aug 19 (JKNS): A 70-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by an Alto car at Bypass, Sofi Akber Road in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, officials said.

An official told news agency JKNS that the Alto bearing registration number DL6CN-4595, was travelling from Sopore towards Bandipora when it hit a pedestrian identified as Azi Begum, wife of Abdul Khaliq Budha, resident of Ningli, aged around 70 years.

The injured woman was immediately shifted to District Hospital Sopore for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries, the official said.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigation into the incident. (JKNS)
