Sopore, Aug 13 (JKNS): The Full Dress Rehearsal for the forthcoming Independence Day 2026 celebrations was held today at Khushal Sports Stadium, Tulibal, Sopore.
Tehsildar Sopore Shri Sheikh Tariq unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute at the march past. Addl. SP Sopore Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, along with other officers of Sopore Police, Security Forces and Civil Administration, attended the programme and reviewed the overall arrangements for the main function scheduled on 15th August 2026.
The parade comprised contingents from District Police Sopore, CRPF, JKHG and students from various educational institutions, followed by colourful cultural performances by school students reflecting patriotic spirit and local culture.
Security, traffic management, seating and other arrangements at the venue were also reviewed to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.
The rehearsal concluded successfully with all departments directed to ensure close coordination and completion of necessary arrangements ahead of the main function. (JKNS)
