Gadool Resident Appeals R&B and PMGSY to Construct Protective Bund After Repeated Landslides

Anantnag, Aug 5 (JKNS): Mohammad Qasim Sardan, son of Najeemdin and a resident of Gadool, has appealed to the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department and the PMGSY authorities to immediately construct a protective bund near his residence following repeated landslides that have put his house at serious risk.

According to Qasim, landslides occurred on July 27 and again on August 4 after heavy rainfall lashed the area, causing a significant portion of land near his house to collapse. He said the continuous erosion has made the situation increasingly dangerous and raised fears of further damage if urgent preventive measures are not taken.

He urged the concerned departments to visit the site at the earliest and undertake immediate protective works to prevent further landslides and safeguard his house and surrounding property.

Meanwhile, officials from the R&B Department and PMGSY assured that they are taking the matter seriously and will ensure immediate action. They said they have already taken note of the situation and will make every possible effort to complete the necessary protective works at the earliest.

Local residents have also appealed to the authorities to treat the matter as a priority and ensure timely intervention before any major tragedy occurs, especially if the area experiences more rainfall in the coming days. (JKNS)
