Srinagar, Aug 3 (JKNS): A 45-year-old man lost his life after a round log of wood rolled down from a forested area and crushed him while he was engaged in wood-cutting work in Nawkan Gawran area of Tehsil Larnoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Javid Ahmad Baba, son of Ghulam Hassan Baba, a resident of Lessu Astanpora.
They said the victim had gone to the nearby forest for wood-cutting when a heavy round log rolled downhill and struck him, resulting in his death on the spot.
The body was later shifted to PHC Larnoo, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
