MY Bharat Baramulla Organises “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” Programme at GHSS, Sumbal

Bandipora, July 31 (JKNS): MY Bharat Baramulla, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, organised the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” programme at the Conference Hall of Government Higher Secondary School, Sumbal, with the objective of creating awareness among young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

The programme was graced by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Sumbal, as the Chief Guest, while the Vice Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Nowgam, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The programme was also attended by Bashir Ahmad Mir, Chairman, Elife Welfare Research Organisation, Baramulla; Tahir Ahmad Malik, Milli Youth Organisation, Rafiabad; President, Al-Falah Youth Club; Gazi Shams; Asim Ajaz, President, Hajin Welfare Society; and GH Mohidin Lone, Accounts and Programme Supervisor, MY Bharat Baramulla.

The programme was hosted by GH Hussain Dar, President, Desh Premee Youth Club, along with active members and newly established Youth Clubs, who extended their support towards making the awareness campaign successful.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, youth volunteers, representatives of youth clubs, and members of the local community.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasised the importance of collective efforts in preventing drug abuse. They urged young people to stay away from substance abuse and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in their schools, colleges, and communities.

As part of the programme, a range of competitions and awareness activities were organised, including Singing, Dance, Painting, Debate, Slam Poetry, Slogan Writing, Reel & Short Film, and Nukkad Natak. These activities provided participants with a creative platform to highlight the harmful consequences of drug abuse and spread the message of a healthy and drug-free society.

The participants also took the Nasha Mukt Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and contributing towards building a healthier, safer, and drug-free society.

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers from MY Bharat Baramulla highlighted that such initiatives are aimed at empowering young people to make informed choices, lead healthy and productive lives, and actively contribute towards the vision of a Drug-Free India and Viksit Bharat.

The programme concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and a vote of thanks to the ZEO Sumbal, Vice Principal, dignitaries, faculty members, youth volunteers, students, representatives of Youth Clubs, and all participants for their valuable support and active participation in making the programme a success.
