Srinagar, July 29 (JKNS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday congratulated Indian Army athlete Naib Subedar Gulveer Singh for scripting history by winning the silver medal in the Men’s 10,000 metres at the Commonwealth Games 2026, becoming the first Indian ever to secure a Commonwealth Games medal in the event.

In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, Rajnath Singh described the achievement as “historic and exemplary” and said Gulveer Singh’s remarkable performance has brought immense pride to the nation.
