Srinagar, July 22 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the construction of two Unity Malls, one each in Srinagar and Jammu, at a cumulative cost of ₹255 crore, the Office of the Chief Minister said on Wednesday.

According to a post shared by the Office of the Chief Minister on X, as per news agency JKNS, the landmark projects will provide a dedicated platform for local artisans, handloom and handicraft products, GI-tagged goods and regional entrepreneurs.

The government said the Unity Malls are expected to create vibrant commercial spaces that will promote tourism, trade and employment across Jammu and Kashmir while providing enhanced market access for locally manufactured products.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening the local economy by supporting traditional crafts, encouraging entrepreneurship and showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural and artisanal heritage on a larger platform. (JKNS)
