Srinagar, July 20 (JKNS): Intensifying its sustained crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crore belonging to alleged notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, dealing a major blow to the financial network of drug traffickers.
Continuing its relentless crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached 10 immovable properties worth approximately ₹8 crores belonging to notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Acting in accordance with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta attached the following properties identified as illegally acquired assets generated through proceeds of narcotics trafficking, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh S/O Bakhtavar Ahmad Sheikh, R/O Zahidpora Sheikh Colony, Hawal – A double-storeyed residential house constructed on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 55/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. Mst. Hajra Begum W/O Fayaz Ahmad Khan, R/O Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta – A double-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 13/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh @ Gulloo S/O Late Gh. Hassan Sheikh, R/O Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Nowhatta – A four-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 41/2021, 11/2018 and 06/2013 under the NDPS Act. Fahmeeda @ Famba W/O Late Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, R/O Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A single-storeyed residential house on 4 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹55 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 32/2019 U/S 8/20-29 NDPS Act.
Abdul Ahad Sheikh S/O Dilawar Ahmad Sheikh, R/O Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A double-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹75 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 32/2019, 40/2019 and 48/2019 under the NDPS Act. Gh. Nabi Sheikh S/O Habib Ullah Sheikh, R/O Sheikh Colony, Tujgari Mohalla, Nowhatta – A three-storeyed residential house on 5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR Nos. 57/2020, 46/2005 and 06/2006 under the NDPS Act. Altaf Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Hameed Sheikh, R/O Sheikh Colony, Androoni Kathidarwaza – A double-storeyed residential house on 4.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act.
Hyder Ali Wani S/O Sajad Ahmad Wani, R/O Kathidarwaza, Rainawari – A double-storeyed residential house on 5.5 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹85 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act. Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh S/O Mohammad Sultan Sheikh, R/O Kathidarwaza, Rainawari – A three-storeyed residential house on 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/20-22-29 NDPS Act. Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ali Mohammad Sheikh, R/O Barthana, Qamarwari – A double-storeyed residential house on 7 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹95 lakh, attached in connection with FIR No. 52/2019 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act.
The attached properties, with a cumulative estimated value of approximately ₹8 crore, have been identified during investigation as Assets acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking.
The attachment has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug networks and deprive offenders of the benefits derived from illegal drug trade.
Srinagar Police remains steadfast in its commitment to the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and will continue to take stringent legal action against drug peddlers and all those involved in the narcotics ecosystem. Such measures are aimed not only at prosecuting offenders but also at eliminating the economic foundations of the drug trade to ensure a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
