Srinagar, July 20 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday expressed profound grief over the loss of seven lives in a rain-triggered landslide in Poonch district and directed senior officials to provide immediate relief and all necessary assistance to the affected families.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, the Lieutenant Governor said the landslide, caused by heavy rainfall, had claimed seven precious lives.
“A tragic landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Poonch has resulted in the loss of seven precious lives. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families during this difficult time,” the LG said.
He further stated that senior officials have been directed to ensure immediate relief measures and extend all necessary assistance to those affected by the tragedy.
The landslide struck the Domail Dhok Nandichool area of Loran in Poonch district, where seven people, including women and children, lost their lives after being buried under debris following heavy rainfall. (JKNS)
