Srinagar, July 19 (JKNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to review the situation arising from heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir, assuring them of all possible assistance from the Central Government.
According to details available with news agency JKNS, the Home Minister held separate conversations with the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister regarding the prevailing weather situation and its impact in different parts of the Union Territory.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, in a post on X, stated that Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah spoke with Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah regarding the situation caused by heavy rainfall and assured them of all possible assistance from the Central Government.
The assurance comes amid widespread heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir, which has triggered flash floods, landslides, mudslides and disruption of normal life in several districts, particularly in the Jammu region.
Authorities are continuing rescue, relief and restoration operations in the affected areas as the administration remains on high alert in view of the weather forecast. (JKNS)
