Budgam, July 17 (JKNS): A Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel was killed and another sustained injuries after an official vehicle met with an accident at the Bailey Bridge in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, officials said.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the two SOG personnel were travelling in an official vehicle when it hit the steel girder of the Bailey Bridge, leaving both of them critically injured.

Both were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors declared one of them dead on arrival, while the other is undergoing treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad, a resident of Hanjura, while the injured has been identified as Riyaz Ahmad, officials said.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. (JKNS)
