Former Sarpanch Killed After Shooting Stone Hits Car on NH-44 in Ramban

Ramban, July 15 (JKNS): A former Sarpanch was killed on Wednesday after a shooting stone struck his car on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Trishul Morh in Ramban district, officials said.

Officials told JKNS that the incident occurred when the former Sarpanch was returning home after dropping a person in Ramban town. A large boulder rolled down from a hillside and hit his vehicle near Trishul Morh, causing fatal injuries.

He was immediately rescued and shifted to the District Hospital Ramban, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Tantray, a resident of Seri village in Ramban district.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
