Arms, Ammunition Recovered During Joint Search Operation in Uri’s Hatlanga

Srinagar, July 7 (JKNS): Security forces on Tuesday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a joint search operation in the Hatlanga area of Uri sector in Baramulla district, officials said.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army launched a search operation in Hatlanga following specific inputs.

During the operation, the joint team recovered two AK-56 rifles, two AK-56 magazines, 256 rounds of AK-56 ammunition, one pistol along with two magazines, five hand grenades, three packets of cigarettes and one black bag, they said.

 

Police have taken cognisance of the recovery and initiated further investigation into the matter. (JKNS)
