Tangmarg, July 6 (JKNS): A fire broke out at the Swiss Chalet Villa Hotel near Ziran Camp on the Baba Reshi Road in Tangmarg on Sunday night, damaging one guest room and guests’ belongings. No loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.
According to official sources, the fire erupted at around 10:35 PM. Soon after the incident was reported, troops of 29 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), currently deployed at Ziran Army Camp, rushed to the spot and immediately joined the firefighting efforts.
The Army personnel worked in close coordination with the Fire and Emergency Services, local authorities and civilians to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. Their prompt response helped bring the fire under control within a short time.
Officials said the fire was confined to one guest room, while guests’ luggage also sustained damage. However, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and the concerned authorities have initiated an inquiry. (JKNS)
