Doda, July 1 (JKNS): Two cloudbursts triggered by heavy rainfall struck the Kalalgisar area of Bhalessa in Doda district on Wednesday, causing flash floods and debris flow that blocked several roads and disrupted connectivity to multiple villages, officials said.

Officials told news agency JKNS that continuous heavy rainfall led to the twin cloudbursts, bringing down large quantities of debris and cutting off road links in parts of the Bhalessa belt.

The administration is closely monitoring the situation as persistent rainfall has increased the risk of further landslides and road blockages in the region, officials said.

They added that restoration work to clear the affected roads will begin once weather conditions improve and it is safe for machinery and workers to operate.

Meanwhile, the district administration has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas and strictly adhere to official advisories until normal road connectivity is restored. (JKNS)
