Amarnath Yatra 2026: IGP Kashmir Reviews Security Grid in Ganderbal, Inspects Manigam Transit Camp

Senior officers assess deployment plans, transit camp preparedness and multi-layered security arrangements to ensure safe, smooth and incident-free pilgrimage

Srinagar, June 30 (JKNS): Ahead of the commencement of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive on-ground review of security arrangements and deployment plans in Ganderbal district, inspecting the Manigam Transit Camp and assessing preparedness along the Yatra route.

As per news agency JKNS, IGP Birdi, conducted a comprehensive on-ground review of the security arrangements and deployment plan in district Ganderbal.

 

He was accompanied by DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Range, SSP Srinagar, SSP Ganderbal, SSP Bandipora, SP Ops Srinagar and other senior officers from Police and Civil Administration.

 

During the visit, IGP Kashmir inspected the Transit Camp Manigam and took a detailed assessment of the arrangements being put in place for the smooth, secure and hassle-free movement of pilgrims.

 

He also reviewed the deployment of Police, CAPF’s and other security components at important locations along the Yatra route. (JKNS)
