Srinagar, June 27 (JKNS): A Pakistani national was apprehended by security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after he was spotted moving under suspicious circumstances on Friday.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the individual has been identified as Mohd Sajad, son of Rafiq, a resident of Polas in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Sources said that, security personnel detected his suspicious movement close to the LoC during routine surveillance and immediately intercepted him before taking him into custody.
The apprehended Pakistani national is currently being questioned by security agencies to ascertain his identity, motive behind crossing into Indian territory and any possible links, they said.
Further investigation is underway, while security agencies are examining all aspects of the incident, the sources added. (JKNS)
