The programme was organised by Sub- Divisional Administration in collaboration with the School Education Department and the Department of Youth Services & Sports.

The event commenced with a Marathon Run and Cycle Rally which were ceremonially flagged off from the Mini Secretariat, Tangdhar by the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara, accompanied by the Block Development Officer, Tangdhar.

A large number of students from educational institutions, cyclists, officers and officials of various line departments, and members of the general public participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating a strong collective commitment to eradicating the menace of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, disciplined and responsible lifestyle.

The rally passed through the main streets of Tangdhar with participants carrying placards and raising awareness slogans highlighting the ill effects of substance abuse, the importance of physical fitness, and the shared responsibility of society in protecting the younger generation from addiction. The event served as a powerful platform to spread the message of “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life”* and to promote the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat as a cornerstone of Viksit

Bharat.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasised that drug abuse poses a serious threat to the social fabric and future of the youth. They stressed that awareness, community participation, family support and sustained preventive efforts are essential to eliminate the menace. They also encouraged young people to actively engage in education, sports, skill development and constructive pursuits to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The programme concluded with all participants taking a solemn pledge to remain steadfast in the fight against drug abuse and to serve as ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reaffirming their commitment to building a healthy, progressive and drug-free society in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
