As per news agency JKNS, Mufti has paid rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his noble companions, describing their unparalleled sacrifice in the plains of Karbala as the highest embodiment of truth, justice and steadfast resistance against tyranny.

“The eternal sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his noble companions in the plains of Karbala is the zenith of human endeavour to stand by truth against oppression, justice confronting tyranny, and the refusal of a small caravan of righteousness to bow before the forces of Yazidiyat,” she said.

Ms. Mufti said Imam Hussain (A.S.) taught humanity that silence in the face of injustice amounts to a betrayal of conscience.

She said his martyrdom transcends history and continues to inspire people across generations to uphold dignity, resist falsehood and make sacrifices for the greater good of the Ummah and humanity.

Referring to the suffering of oppressed people across the world, she said the message of Karbala remains profoundly relevant.

“From Palestine to Myanmar, and wherever people continue to endure pain, persecution and the longing for justice, the spirit of Karbala reminds us that no darkness can extinguish the light of truth and that the blood of martyrs nurtures the cause of righteousness,” she said.

Joining the Muslim Ummah, particularly the Shia brethren observing Azadari with devotion, in paying homage to Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala, Mufti urged people to use the solemn occasion for self-reform, strengthening bonds of brotherhood across sects and communities, and recommitting themselves to the values of truth, compassion and justice.

She also urged the administration to facilitate peaceful and traditional Muharram processions without restrictions, respecting the religious sentiments of the people.

“Let the timeless message of Karbala inspire us to build a Jammu and Kashmir where every voice is heard, every tear is acknowledged and every heart finds solace in justice and dignity,” she said.

Mehbooba Mufti prayed that Almighty Allah accept the Azadari of the faithful, elevate the ranks of the martyrs of Karbala, and bless Jammu and Kashmir with lasting peace, prosperity and unity. She said the Hussaini spirit should continue to guide society through these challenging times. (JKNS)
