Srinagar, June 23 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor has appointed senior officers as Nodal Officers for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, assigning them responsibility for monitoring and coordination along the two major pilgrimage routes.

According to Government Order No. 1108-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated June 22, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, has been designated as Nodal Officer for the Pahalgam Axis.

Rahul Yadav, IAS, Managing Director, J&K Power Development Corporation, who is also holding additional charge of Managing Director, JKPCL, has been appointed as Nodal Officer for the Baltal Axis.

The order states that the officers shall closely monitor and liaise with all concerned agencies involved in the conduct of the annual pilgrimage and report regularly to the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB).

The appointments have been made to ensure effective coordination and seamless management of arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. The order was issued by the General Administration Department with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor. (JKNS)
