During the operation, police teams conducted extensive checking and enforcement drives across various areas of Beerwah. As a result, nearly 30 vehicles and machines allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals were intercepted and seized.

The seized vehicles include tractors, tippers, LNT excavators, and JCB earthmovers, which were reportedly being used for unauthorized mining activities and the transportation of illegally extracted minerals.

According to police officials, illegal mining poses a serious threat to natural resources, disturbs ecological balance, and causes damage to public infrastructure. Such activities not only deplete valuable mineral resources but also contribute to environmental degradation and public safety concerns.

The swift and decisive action taken by Budgam Police sends a strong message to those involved in illegal mining that violations of environmental and mining laws will not be tolerated. Police have reiterated their zero-tolerance policy and emphasized that strict legal action will continue against all violators in accordance with the law.

District Police Budgam reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding natural resources and protecting public interests. Officials stated that similar enforcement drives will be intensified across the district in the coming days to dismantle illegal mining networks and prevent further exploitation of natural resources.

Meanwhile, Budgam Police has appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any incidents of illegal mining or suspicious activities in their localities. Officials stressed that public participation is essential for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The department further reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and taking all necessary measures to protect the environment, while ensuring strict and impartial action against those engaged in illegal mining activities. (JKNS)
