Shopian, Jun 22 (JKNS): A youth who had been missing from his home in Shopian district since June 9 was found dead after his body was recovered from Vishow Nallah near Reshinagri Adda on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Imran Doiey, son of Mohammad Aslam Doiey, a resident of Sedow village in Shopian.
Imran had gone missing from his residence on June 9, following which efforts were launched by his family and police to trace him.
They said his body was recovered from Vishow Nallah near Reshinagri Adda and subsequently shifted for medico-legal formalities.
Locals said the deceased was reportedly suffering from mental health issues.
After completion of legal and medical procedures, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
