Srinagar, June 22 (JKNS): A 65-year-old woman died after she was electrocuted while crossing a road in the Naidkadal area of Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Shameema, wife of Late Ghulam Nabi Makhdoomi, a resident of Kalashpora.
They said the woman came into contact with an electric pole near Ranger Stop, Naidkadal, while crossing the road, resulting in a fatal electric shock.
She died on the spot, officials said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
