J&K Police Bags National Passport Seva Award for Second Consecutive Year

Srinagar, June 20 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police has once again earned national recognition after being adjudged among the best-performing state police forces in Passport Seva services for the year 2025–26, securing the prestigious honour for the second consecutive year.

As per news agency JKNS, J&K Police was conferred with the Institutional Performance Award for State Police during the Passport Seva Divas celebrations and Regional Passport Officers’ Conference held from June 17 to 19 at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan, New Delhi.

The Certificate of Recognition and Plaque of Appreciation were presented by the Minister of External Affairs in recognition of J&K Police’s high standards of service delivery, commitment to good governance and efficient passport verification services.

Officials said the award reflects the force’s continued focus on transparent, citizen-centric and technology-driven service delivery.

During the period from April 2025 to March 2026, J&K Police successfully completed verification of 1,64,354 passport applications, ensuring timely processing and facilitating hassle-free passport services for citizens.

The achievement has significantly strengthened public confidence, enhanced ease of travel and supported educational, professional and personal aspirations of thousands of applicants across Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials stated that the recognition reinforces J&K Police’s commitment to excellence in public service and highlights its growing reputation as a model of responsive and efficient policing in the country. (JKNS)
