Shopian, Jun 19 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian on Friday arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in the Pudsoo area of the district and recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating material from their possession, officials said.
A senior police officer confirmed to news agency JKNS that, acting on specific inputs, Shopian Police conducted an operation in Pudsoo during which three suspected OGWs were apprehended.
During the operation, police recovered two grenades, approximately 2.5 kilograms of (explosive material), four mobile phones and four posters related to the banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), officer said.
The arrested individuals are residents of the Begam area of Shopian. All three had reportedly been missing from their homes since May 31, 2026, sources said.
Further police have initiated an investigation to ascertain their alleged links and activities, while the case has been registered. (JKNS)
