Fire Breaks Out at Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Hadees in Shangus, No Casualties Reported

Anantnag, Jun 17 (JKNS): A fire broke out at Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Hadees in Andoo area of Shangus in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, causing damage to parts of the mosque premises.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS that soon after the incident, teams of the Fire and Emergency Services Department, assisted by local residents, rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.

The fire was successfully brought under control in time, preventing it from spreading further and causing extensive damage, officials said.

Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the outbreak of the blaze. (JKNS)
