Srinagar, Jun 15 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said the Jammu and Kashmir Government has prepared its response to the clarifications sought by the Central Government on the reservation report and that the matter would soon be placed before the Cabinet for approval.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, CM Omar said the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to examine the reservation issue had already completed its report, which was approved by the Cabinet and subsequently forwarded through the Lieutenant Governor to the Centre.
“The Cabinet Sub-Committee sat, prepared its report and the Cabinet approved it. Like other Cabinet decisions, it was sent to the Lieutenant Governor, who formally referred it to Delhi,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the Central Government sought certain clarifications on the report, following which the file was returned to the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
“The concerned department has prepared replies to all the clarifications sought by the Centre. The response has been ready for the last two to three days,” Omar said.
He added that since the original decision was taken by the Cabinet, the reply would also require Cabinet approval before being sent back to New Delhi.
“The Cabinet will meet shortly to approve the response, after which it will be sent back to the Central Government. This is a matter of only a few days,” he said. (JKNS)
