Budgam, Jun 7 (JKNS): A grand and spiritually uplifting Eid-e-Ghadeer celebration was held in the Mulsullah a Beerwah area of Budgam.
The event was jointly organized by the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA) and Ma’arif-ul-Uloom Al-Islamia.
Thousands of students from the institution, prominent religious scholars, social and community leaders, and a large number of devotees participated in the gathering.
Addressing the event, speakers highlighted the significance and virtues of Eid-e-Ghadeer. They stated that the day commemorates the historic occasion when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), under the command of Almighty Allah, appointed Hazrat Ali (AS) as his successor and the leader of the Muslim Ummah.
The speakers described the event of Ghadeer as a decisive and landmark moment in Islamic history.
Emphasizing the need for unity among Muslims, the speakers said that in present times it is essential for the Ummah to remain united to effectively face various challenges.
They noted that mutual respect, harmony, and collective strength are key principles that can help address the issues confronting the Muslim community.
On the occasion, President of AJKSA Imran Raza Ansari, shed light on the life, character, and teachings of Hazrat Imam Ali (AS). He said that Imam Ali’s life stands as a perfect example of justice, piety, courage, and service to humanity, urging Muslims to adopt his teachings in their daily lives.
Referring to the upcoming holy month of Muharram, Molana Ansari demanded that the historic procession of 10th Muharram be allowed to follow its traditional route from Abi Guzar through Lal Chowk to Zadibal. He stated that this route has remained restricted for decades and its restoration is essential for preserving religious traditions.
He further said that although the government claims to be making adequate arrangements for Muharram, the ground situation in Budgam, Pattan, and other areas does not reflect proper preparedness. He stressed the need for uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Zakari informed that the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association also organized Eid-e-Ghadeer celebrations in Sultan Mohalla, Saida Kadal, and Nigeen in Srinagar, where students from affiliated seminaries actively participated. Molana Imran Raza Ansari and other scholars and organizational members were also present on the occasion.
The event concluded with special prayers for unity, brotherhood, and peace among the Muslim Ummah. (JKNS)
