Police Organises District-Level Conference on Effective Utilisation of Beat Policing In Bandipora

Bandipora, Jun 4 (JKNS): Police in Bandipora organised a one-day district-level conference on “Effective Utilisation of Beat Policing” at District Police Lines Bandipora. The conference was attended by all SHOs, In-Charges of Police Posts and Beat Officers of the district.

The conference was chaired by SSP Bandipora Shri Ajaz Ahmad Zargar-JKPS, in the presence of other district police officers.

The deliberations focused on strengthening beat policing as an effective mechanism for enhancing police-public interaction, improving intelligence gathering, preventing crime, and ensuring better law and order management at the grassroots level. Detailed discussions were held on the duties and responsibilities of Beat Officers, community engagement, timely collection of information, maintenance of beat records, and effective response to local issues.

Addressing the participants, SSP Bandipora underscored the importance of proactive and community-oriented policing. He directed officers to maintain close coordination with local communities, remain accessible to the public, and address grievances in a prompt and effective manner. He further stressed the need for regular beat visits, enhanced public outreach, and optimal utilisation of available resources to strengthen policing at the field level.

The participants also shared their field experiences and highlighted practical challenges encountered during beat duties. Various suggestions and best practices were discussed to further improve the effectiveness and responsiveness of beat policing across the district.

The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening community policing initiatives and enhancing the overall efficiency, accountability, and public service delivery of District Police Bandipora. (JKNS)
