Srinagar Records Hottest Night of Season at 19.2°C; Rain Likely From June 3: MeT

Srinagar, Jun 2 (JKNS): Srinagar city recorded its hottest night of the season with the minimum temperature settling at 19.2 degrees Celsius, while several other parts of Kashmir also witnessed unusually warm night temperatures, according to weather data.

Details shared by MET Centre Srinagar as per news agency JKNS, Qazigund and Bandipora recorded a minimum temperature of 17.6°C each, while Anantnag settled at 17.5°C and Kupwara at 15.2°C.

Kokernag recorded 16.5°C, Pulwama 16.5°C, Awantipora 17.0°C and Konibal Pampore 17.2°C. Srinagar Airport registered a minimum temperature of 17.4°C.

Among the cooler stations, Pahalgam recorded 12.4°C, Sonamarg 11.8°C and Gulmarg 10.5°C.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department Srinagar has predicted a fresh spell of rain across Jammu and Kashmir from June 3 onwards, bringing relief from the prevailing warm weather conditions.

Officials said the weather is expected to remain generally dry till June 2, while intermittent rain and thundershower activity is likely in several parts of the Union Territory beginning June 3.

The MeT Department has advised people, especially tourists and farmers, to stay updated with weather forecasts and advisories during the expected wet spell. (JKNS)
