LG Administration Promotes Three Police Inspectors as Deputy Superintendents of Police

Srinagar, Jun 1 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday ordered the promotion of three Inspectors (Ministerial) of the Police Department as Deputy Superintendents of Police (Ministerial) with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 320-Home of 2026 dated June 1, 2026, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, sanction has been accorded to the promotion of Farooq Ahmad Rather (PID: MEG891718), Bashir Ahmad (PID: MEG891238) and Ghulam Nabi Bhat (PID: MEG891286) as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ministerial).

The officers have been promoted in Level-8 of the Pay Matrix (₹47,600–₹1,51,100) and will assume their new responsibilities with immediate effect.

 

The order was issued by the Home Department following recommendations received from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and other concerned authorities.

 

The government has clarified that the promotions shall remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions, if any, pending before competent courts of law. (JKNS)
