The data reveals that enforcement agencies seized 341 kilograms of narcotic substances, including 12 kilograms of heroin valued at nearly Rs 120 crore, besides 23,752 units of psychotropic tablets and capsules during the period.

Action was also taken under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, with 55 individuals detained as part of preventive measures against habitual traffickers and peddlers, details stated.

As part of the financial crackdown on the narcotics ecosystem, authorities attached 89 immovable properties worth Rs 63.93 crore and demolished 63 properties valued at Rs 19.77 crore, taking the total value of drug-linked assets targeted during the campaign to over Rs 83 crore.

The campaign has also focused on regulatory enforcement, with authorities initiating punitive action against 120 chemists and druggists, including suspension of 118 licences and cancellation of two licences for alleged violations.

Around 668 driving licences and 13 vehicle registration certificates were suspended or cancelled, while confiscation proceedings were recommended against 124 passports linked to narcotics offences.

In parallel with enforcement measures, authorities intensified awareness and rehabilitation efforts across Jammu and Kashmir.

Over 16 lakh awareness programmes were conducted, reaching more than one crore people through educational institutions, community outreach programmes and public campaigns.

Health and rehabilitation services also witnessed significant activity, with de-addiction facilities catering to 58,603 patients, while hundreds of individuals underwent counselling and rehabilitation through health, police and social welfare department-run centres.

Intelligence-based operations were simultaneously expanded, resulting in identification of 3,045 suspected drug peddlers and smugglers, examination of 386 suspects, and intensified monitoring of vulnerable areas, details stated.

A senior police officer privy to anti-drug operations told JKNS that the campaign has moved beyond routine law enforcement and is targeting the complete ecosystem sustaining narcotics trade and narco-terrorism.

“The Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan is not merely about seizures and arrests. It is a sustained offensive against the entire narcotics network. Drug smuggling chains are being dismantled, financial channels are being disrupted and those involved in poisoning society are being identified and neutralised through coordinated operations,” the officer said.

The campaign has additionally witnessed mass public participation through anti-drug padyatras led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha across districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials maintained that the ongoing drive has significantly disrupted narcotics trafficking networks and weakened channels allegedly used for terror financing, while warning that operations against drug smugglers and their support structures will continue in the coming months. (JKNS)
