PoK National, Local Girl Detained by Army Near LoC in Uri; Questioning Underway

Srinagar, May 31 (JKNS): A Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) national and a local girl were detained by Army personnel near the Silikote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday, sources said.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that the PoK national has been identified as Zeeshan Ahmad Mir, son of Lal Din Mir, a resident of Painkadi village in Muzaffarabad district of PoK was apprehended by Army.

Further more a local girl identified as Iram Bano, daughter of Abdul Majeed Mir, a resident of Tilawari Uri was also arrested by army.

 

Initial information suggests that the duo may have been involved in a cross-border love affair, although sources said the exact circumstances leading to the incident are being ascertained.

 

Both individuals are currently in the custody of the concerned Army unit and are being questioned.

 

Security agencies are examining all aspects of the case and further details are awaited. (JKNS)
