Karnah, May 28 (JKNS): In a significant step towards promoting digital literacy and skill development in remote border areas, renowned social worker and artist Rouble Nagi inaugurated a Computer Skill Centre at Madrasa Islamia Arabia Lisan-ul-Quran in Amrohi village of Karnah Tehsil under the banner of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation.

Amrohi village, situated nearly 10 kilometres from the tehsil headquarters of Karnah and close to the Line of Control (LoC), has long remained deprived of modern educational and technological facilities. The inauguration of the computer centre has therefore been welcomed by locals as a historic and much-needed initiative for the educational upliftment of the area.
This newly established centre is the third skill development institute set up by the foundation in Karnah Valley. Two similar centres are already functioning successfully at Madrasa Rozatul Salihat and Madrasa Shah Hamadan, where students are receiving basic computer education and digital skill training.
Speaking on the occasion, locals said that this is the first-ever computer skill centre established in Amrohi village and marks the beginning of a new era for students and youth of the region. Residents expressed gratitude towards the foundation for bringing digital education to such a remote and border area where access to modern facilities has remained limited for decades.
People appreciated the efforts of Rouble Nagi and her foundation in reaching far-flung villages and working for the welfare and empowerment of underprivileged communities through education and skill development initiatives.
Residents also acknowledged the support of the Indian Army in making the project possible. They said the initiative reflects a positive collaboration aimed at empowering the younger generation through education, technology, and constructive engagement.
According to locals, the centre will provide students and unemployed youth with opportunities to learn computer basics, digital literacy, typing skills, internet usage, and other modern technological skills that are becoming increasingly important in today’s world. They said the facility would help bridge the digital divide between urban and remote areas and open new opportunities for local youth in education and employment sectors.
Parents and community elders expressed happiness over the establishment of the centre and termed it a ray of hope for the future of their children. They stated that many talented students in border villages fail to access digital education due to lack of infrastructure and resources, but such initiatives can significantly improve their learning opportunities and confidence.
The people of the area further appealed to social organisations, educational institutions, and government agencies to introduce more educational and digital programmes in Karnah so that children and youth living in remote border villages can compete with the modern world and secure a brighter future.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the participation of local residents, students, teachers, social activists, and community members, who welcomed the initiative and hoped that it would bring positive educational and social transformation in the region. (JKNS)
