Cluster University Srinagar Launches First-Ever Ph.D Programme, Welcomes Maiden Research Batch

Srinagar, May 26 (JKNS): In a major academic milestone, Cluster University Srinagar on Monday formally welcomed its maiden batch of Ph.D. scholars for the academic session 2026, marking the launch of the university’s first-ever doctoral research programme.

As per news agency JKNS, CUS organized an interaction session with its maiden batch of Ph.D. scholars for the academic session 2026 at Government College of Education (IASE), M.A. Road, Srinagar.

A total of 37 scholars have enrolled in the university’s Ph.D. programme across nearly 15 disciplines offered through its constituent colleges, including Government College of Education (IASE), Sri Pratap College, Government College for Women M.A. Road, Amar Singh College and Government Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College Bemina.

 

The session gave scholars an opportunity to interact with the university administration and understand the university’s research framework.

 

Addressing the scholars, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin said the university aims to promote research, academic excellence and innovation. He also referred to the curriculum framework and academic structure of the Ph.D. programme.

 

In her address, Principal IASE, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz urged the scholars to undertake socially relevant research and make effective use of the academic resources available at the university.

 

Others who spoke on the occasion included Prof. (Dr.) Syed Wilayat Rizvi, Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Mir and Dr. Ghulam Hassan Dar, besides faculty supervisors from various constituent colleges. Principals of the constituent colleges including Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Farooq, Prof. (Dr.) Haris Izhar Tantray, Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, faculty members, department heads, research supervisors and university officials were present on the occasion.

 

During the interaction session, scholars discussed academic and research-related matters with faculty members and university officials. (JKNS)
