Srinagar, May 25 (JKNS): Panic erupted at the famous Gulmarg Gondola on Monday after several tourists got stranded mid-air following a suspected technical malfunction in the cable car system.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS that the gondola service suddenly halted during operation, leaving multiple passengers suspended in the air for some time and triggering fear among tourists onboard.

They said several stranded passengers were seen crying and pleading for help as the cable car remained stationary mid-air.

Soon after the incident, rescue teams and technical staff rushed to the spot and launched an evacuation operation to safely bring down the stranded tourists.

Initial reports suggested that possible overloading may have contributed to the malfunction, though officials have not yet confirmed the exact reason behind the incident.

All Tourists were rescued safely, an official said. (JKNS)
