Sopore, May 15 (JKNS): In a spirited initiative aimed at promoting sportsmanship, youth engagement, and positive community interaction, the 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Wadoora Sopore, successfully organised the Shaheed Insp. Pintu Kumar Singh (Kirti Chakra) Memorial Boys Doubles Badminton Tournament” under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) in North Kashmir.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various Government Higher Secondary and High Schools from Baramulla and Kupwara districts.

 

Teams from Bomai, Zaloora, Dangiwacha, Handwara, Vilgam, Watergam, Hadipora, Mukam Kralgund and several other areas showcased remarkable talent, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

 

Conducted in a league-cum-knockout format, the tournament featured multiple competitive rounds, drawing appreciation from spectators and officials alike.

 

The concluding matches on Friday saw impressive performances from Government High School Bomai and Government High School Mukam Kralgund, making the finale highly engaging and competitive.

 

Speaking on the occasion, officials of 92 BN CRPF said that the event was organised with the objective of encouraging youth to actively participate in sports and constructive activities, thereby fostering confidence, teamwork, and a healthy competitive spirit among young students.

 

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Vinay Kumar Choudhary, Commanding Officer, 92 BN CRPF, Shri Ravi Mishra, Second-in-Command, along with other officers and personnel of the battalion. The officers appreciated the participating schools, students, and organisers for their discipline, dedication, and active involvement in making the tournament a success.

 

During the concluding ceremony, trophies, medals, and participation certificates were distributed among the winning teams and participants in recognition of their outstanding performances and enthusiastic participation.

 

Local students and members of the community lauded the initiative taken by 92 BN CRPF, describing it as a meaningful step towards youth empowerment and the promotion of sports culture in North Kashmir.

 

The successful conduct of the tournament once again reflected the commitment of CRPF towards strengthening community relations and creating positive opportunities for the youth through sports and civic engagement initiatives. (JKNS)
