Labourer Dies of Electrocution in Srinagar

Man Dies After Coming Under Snow Slide In North Kashmir’s Handwara

Srinagar, May 13 (JKNS): A labourer from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district lost his life after receiving an electric shock while carrying out work at Hawal area Srinagar district on Wednesday, officials said.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS stated that the labourer, identified as Noorani Gojar Turk, resident of Chuntimullah Bandipora, was working for a private company in Srinagar.

The incident occurred Hawal when the labourer was painting an electric pole and accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire, resulting in a severe electric shock.

He was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura in an unconscious condition by a police party, where doctors, after examination, declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident while further proceedings are underway. (JKNS)
