Traffic Restrictions, Diversion Plan Issued for LG Manoj Sinha-Led Mega ‘Padh Yatra’ Rally in Baramulla Tomorrow

Traffic Police announces parking slots, alternate routes for vehicles participating in Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan rally; movement on Baramulla-Uri road to remain suspended for 8 hours

Srinagar, May 11 (JKNS): Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Monday issued a detailed traffic advisory regarding traffic diversions, parking arrangements and movement restrictions in view of the scheduled mega rally (Padh Yatra) led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in Baramulla town on May 12.

As per the advisory issued by SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Liaqat Ali, JKPS, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, vehicles ferrying participants from South and Central Kashmir shall move via Pattan–Palhalan–Sangrama–Delina Railway Crossing diversion and park at Railway Station, ITI and Fruit Mandi parking slots.

The advisory further stated that vehicles coming from Kupwara, Bandipora and Sopore areas shall take the Sopore–Sangrama–Delina Railway Crossing route and park at the designated Railway Station, ITI and Fruit Mandi parking areas.

Similarly, vehicles ferrying participants from Uri and Boniyar areas shall move through Sheeri–Khanpora Bridge and park at General Bus Stand, Truck Yard (Uri Adda) and Sumo Stand parking slots, while vehicles from Gulmarg side shall use the Chandoosa–Gulmarg link road on Baramulla-Uri road and park at the same designated locations.

Meanwhile, Traffic Police also announced complete suspension of vehicular movement from Railway Crossing Baramulla to Bus Stand Crossing along the Baramulla-Uri road from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 12 in view of the mega rally.

According to the advisory, Srinagar-bound traffic from Uri and Baramulla shall be diverted via Khanpora Bridge–Old Town–Ladoora–Sangrama on Srinagar-Baramulla highway, while Uri-bound traffic from Srinagar side shall be diverted through Sangrama–Juhama–Ladoora–Old Town–Khanpora Bridge.

Traffic Police urged commuters and motorists to avoid unnecessary travel on the affected route during the scheduled event and cooperate with authorities for smooth conduct of the rally and hassle-free traffic management. (JKNS)
