During the drives, medical shops were thoroughly checked for compliance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Particular emphasis was laid on verifying sale records, stock registers, and ensuring that medicines especially those with potential for misuse are dispensed strictly against valid prescriptions.

Shopkeepers and pharmacists were sensitized about their legal responsibilities and were advised to maintain proper documentation, avoid over-the-counter sale of restricted drugs, and remain vigilant against any suspicious transactions.

They were also urged to extend full cooperation to law enforcement agencies and to promptly report any instances of misuse or illegal sale of pharmaceutical substances.

Srinagar Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace and safeguarding public health. The general public is requested to actively support this initiative by adhering to legal norms and sharing any information regarding drug-related activities with the nearest police establishment.
