Srinagar, May 2 (JKNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed the inauguration of the ‘Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata’ in Leh, describing it as a significant spiritual occasion coinciding with Buddha Purnima.

As per news agency JKNS, the Prime Minister, in a post on X, said that the revered relics, associated with the Piprahwa Stupa in Kapilavastu and excavated in the late nineteenth century, reflect the enduring teachings of Lord Buddha.

 

 

 

 

He said the exposition provides an opportunity for devotees and visitors to pay their respects while also promoting spiritual and cultural tourism in the region.

 

 

 

 

Officials said the exhibition, which was inaugurated a day earlier, will remain open to the public till May 14 and is expected to travel to Zanskar in the coming days to ensure wider access across Ladakh.

 

 

 

 

Authorities have made necessary arrangements to facilitate pilgrims and tourists, with the event drawing significant attention from visitors across regions. (JKNS)
